Jetstar crew makes emotional farewell!

Jetstar Flight 3K562, which departed from Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at 11:30 AM today, marked one of its final journeys before close down.

Singapore based Jetstar Asia’s decision to shut down comes amidst growing financial pressures, as the it struggled to cope with escalating supplier costs, surging airport fees, and fierce competition.

Having launched its Colombo operations in November 2024, Jetstar quickly became a popular choice for budget travelers.

The airline was offering morning and evening flights between Colombo and Singapore’s Changi Airport.

However, today’s final Colombo–Singapore flight symbolized the end of Jetstar’s brief but impactful presence in Sri Lanka.

The atmosphere onboard was emotional, as the crew and passengers alike bid farewell to a service that had opened up affordable travel options between the two nations.

Jetstar officially concluded its operations on July 31, 2025, bringing an end to its regional footprint after years of serving Southeast Asia and beyond.
