The country has a strong local government system, which is responsible for ensuring cities and villages of their respective domain are kept clean, and adding into this is the people’s consciousness.

In major cities, cleaning staff gets to work at night and cleans up the entire city before dawn.

The government has introduced garbage disposal systems, including recycling methods.

Even though it is still not near perfect, a bit of hard work will help the country to reach the best standards.

Despite work to be done, the country is known as one of the cleanest in South Asia.

The Island’s economy saw a major crisis, the worst in its history, during the 2019-2022 period.

The Easter bombings, the global covid pandemic, bad economic management, and a people’s uprising against the political system were the reasons behind the crisis.

However, the country has emerged strong against all odds and is moving strong, with the economy on the right path.

Tourism is booming, and Sri Lanka welcomes tourists from across the globe.

Indian tourists to Sri Lanka during the year 2024 recorded a figure of 416,974, the largest from a single country. It continues to grow.
