French bee to launch direct flights to Colombo During Winter

French Bee, the smart-cost long-haul airline, will begin flights to Sri Lanka starting December 2026, significantly boosting connectivity between France and Colombo.

Beginning December 19, 2026, French Bee will operate a triangular route connecting Paris-Orly, the Maldives (Malé), and Sri Lanka (Colombo), timed to capitalize on the winter travel season.

“The launch of this route aligns perfectly with our growth strategy,” said Marc-Antoine Blondeau, CEO of French Bee.

 “It allows us to capture a high-potential market that remains underserved by direct flights from Franc,” He added.

Through this Malé–Colombo service, the airline aims to tap into both the beach-resort tourism of the Maldives and the booming cultural, nature, and wellness tourism of Sri Lanka.

French Bee will operate from Paris-Orly Airport, making it the first airline to offer direct flights to Sri Lanka from Orly.

A Flexible Triangular Itinerary

The route operates as a triangular itinerary with a brief layover: Paris-Orly → Malé → Colombo → Paris-Orly, giving travelers the flexibility to visit one destination or both.
