FitsAir Landed at an airport

Direct Flight Between Colombo–Ahmedabad Launched By Fits Air

,

Sri Lanka’s budget airline FitsAir has officially launched a new direct flight service between Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Ahmedabad, India.

The new service marks a significant milestone in air connectivity between the two countries.

The inaugural flight departed Colombo at 6:41 AM, touching down in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad shortly after.

The direct route dramatically reduces travel time between the two cities  from approximately eight hours on connecting flights to just three hours.

Thrice-Weekly Service Between Colombo and Ahmedabad

Under the new direct flight service, FitsAir will operate flights between Colombo and Ahmedabad three times a week.

This will offer travellers a faster, more convenient option between Sri Lanka’s capital and Gujarat’s largest city.

Ahmedabad, located in the western Indian state of Gujarat bordering the Arabian Sea, is a major commercial and cultural hub renowned for its textiles, apparel, gems, and jewellery industries.

Boosting Tourism, Trade, and Cultural Exchange

The new Colombo–Ahmedabad route is expected to strengthen tourism, business travel, and cultural ties between India and Sri Lanka.

With Ahmedabad being a key centre for trade and industry, the direct connection opens up new opportunities for businesses and travellers on both sides.

FitsAir currently operates flights to Bangladesh, the Maldives, Malaysia, Dubai, Pakistan, and multiple destinations in India.
