Jayawickrama, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA UK), brings more than three decades of experience in senior management roles within the Group’s hotel sector.

Aitken Spence Hotels PLC is one of the country’s leading hospitality companies and owns several luxury properties, including Heritance Kandalama and Heritance Tea Factory.

The company also operates prominent hotels such as Earl’s Regency, Rainforest Ecolodge, Turyaa Kalutara, and Sentido Heritance Negombo, among many others across the island.

Part of the diversified conglomerate Aitken Spence PLC, the hotel chain has also expanded its hospitality footprint internationally, with properties in the Maldives, Oman, and India.

The Group is a listed entity with a strong presence on the Colombo Stock Exchange.

The latest appointment comes amid a strong resurgence in Sri Lanka’s tourism sector, which welcomed over one million tourist arrivals in 2025.

Authorities expect this figure to rise further in 2026, with January figures already showing record year-on-year growth.
