A tragic and a rare tourist accident in Sri Lanka has killed a Palestinian national, when she tried to experience a paramotor ride.

The 31-year-old Palestinian woman lost her life following a paramotor crash in Bentota, one of Sri Lanka’s most popular beach destinations on the country’s southern coast.

According to local reports, the powered parachute (paramotor) crashed into the sea during a recreational flight operated by a private establishment along Bentota Beach Road.

The Colombian pilot, who was operating the aircraft, survived the accident.

Authorities have launched investigations to determine the exact cause of the crash.
