Turkish Airlines with 202 Passengers Makes Emergency Landing In Colombo , A Turkish Airlines flight bound for Istanbul made an emergency landing at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Colombo, shortly after take-off due to a technical issue. The Airbus A330, operating flight TK-733, encountered a landing gear malfunction soon after departing from Colombo on Tuesday night. The aircraft was carrying 202 passengers and 10 crew members at the time. Upon identifying the issue, the flight crew decided to divert back to BIA as a precautionary measure. Emergency protocols were immediately activated, with the airport runway prepared for an emergency landing. Fire trucks, ambulances, and emergency response teams were placed on standby. The aircraft landed safely, and all passengers and crew disembarked without injury. However, the incident caused temporary delays to several departing and arrival flights at the airport. Passengers have since been accommodated at hotels near the airport, while Turkish Airlines makes arrangements for their onward travel. On emergencies such as these airlines, as a precautionary measure conducts fuel dump over the seat to reduce landing risk before returning to the airport.
