Going Green: The Sri Lankan Resort Built in Bamboo

Bamboo Tree Resort – A New Feature in Sri Lanka

,

Sri Lanka is to get a new eco-conscious resort made of Bamboo

“Just a few years ago, building a structure like this in Sri Lanka seemed almost impossible. Today, it’s a reality,’ says Julian.

He has shared share photos from the final days of work at ‘The Forestry’, located in Belihuloya.

It looks a truly eco-conscious resort built by using bamboo trees.

He says, This Una Gama Project designed by  Lisa Jehle was the perfect opportunity to showcase the skill of his homegrown team, and the strength of the fully local, sustainable supply chain.

The Resort is made out of 100 percent of the bamboo, all responsibly harvested here in Sri Lanka.

Beyond the building itself, this milestone represents something even more significant for the ‘The Forestry.’

It demonstrates that modern engineered bamboo buildings can be delivered locally, from material sourcing to craftsmanship, at international standards.

These trees are amply available in Sri Lanka and grown through the nature and not be design.
