Sri Lanka Railways Introduces New Ticketing Platform

Sri Lanka Railways has introduced a new ticketing platform that allows passengers to purchase railway tickets online.

The new platform, www.pravesha.lk, allows commuters to purchase tickets on the day of travel.

Accordingly, passengers who wish to use train services can purchase their tickets online on the same day of their journey.

The platform currently offers 2nd and 3rd class tickets.

Passengers can purchase their tickets online by following these steps:

Visit www.pravesha.lk or via the app
Enter your trip details
Pay using a credit or debit card
Receive your e-ticket via SMS or email
Scan the QR code provided on the e-ticket to validate the ticket at the railway station or on the train.

The service provides passengers with an alternative to purchasing tickets at railway stations, allowing them to arrange their journeys online.

The move is part of the continuing digitization of railway services, aimed at making train travel more convenient for passengers.
