Reconnecting a lost route by Arkia: Tel-Aviv and Colombo , Arkia Israeli Airlines will resume its Tel Aviv to Colombo services from mid-September. The airline recommences its services, following its halt on the Colombo route in May 2024. Operated by Gullivair’s Airbus A330-200, the route will run once weekly during the late summer season. Despite the ongoing conflict in the Middle Eastern nation, Israeli tourism to Sri Lanka has risen sharply. In 2022, the island nation only got 9,326 tourists, while in 2024, the number had gone up to 24,845 visitors, and the number is only expected to increase with air connections improving between the two destinations.
