Jaffna Train Schedule, Ticket Prices & How To Book!

The Colombo Jaffna Train Services recommenced this morning with the resumption of services between the two destinations.

The train services upto North from Colombo was suspended following heavy damages occurred to the Northern Rail Track owing to the Ditwah Cyclone.

With the resumption of services, the iconic Yal Devi, Udaya Devi, and Rajarata Manike have resumed operations to the north.

The Northern Railway Line is Sri Lanka’s longest route and one of the highest revenue-generating lines for Sri Lanka Railways.

There are 46 railway stations between Colombo Fort and KKS which runs across over 420 kilo meters and daily three services operate from Colombo to Jaffna and KKS.

• Mount Lavinia to Kankesanthurai (KKS): Departs daily at 5:15 AM from Mount Lavinia
• Kankesanthurai (KKS) to Mount Lavinia: Departs daily at 1:50 PM from KKS

• Colombo Fort to Kankesanthurai (KKS): Departs daily at 6:40 AM from Fort
• Kankesanthurai (KKS) to Colombo Fort: Departs daily at 10:30 AM from KKS
