German Nomad Unites Remote Workers in Sri Lanka , A German-based digital nomad is inviting fellow nomads from across the world to connect in Sri Lanka. “A beautiful life can still feel lonely when you have no one to truly share it with,” says Lilly Schynoll, a digital nomad and traveler. She says working remotely from places others only dream of is incredible. However, Schynoll adds, “even the best beach loses some of its magic when there are no close friends or like-minded people beside you.” Nomad: Networking Events Aren’t Enough Why Networking Events Aren’t Enough Schynoll feels that connecting with people at networking events is great, but the connection rarely lasts beyond a single conversation and “one more LinkedIn connection.” “Then we never saw each other again,” she wrote in a recent LinkedIn post. Lilly (her first name) believes real friendship needs more than a quick connection — it needs time, consistency and shared experiences. “I learned early in my nomad journey that I couldn’t just keep searching for the community I wanted,” she says. So this winter, she decided to build one herself, basing the project in Sri Lanka. Introducing “Work Beach Balance” Lilly is now inviting future friends and collaborators to join her new concept, called Work Beach Balance. “a home-base where small, carefully curated groups of location-independent founders live together for at least one month,” she explains. She believes living together for a full month gives a community time to move beyond small talk, support each other through real business challenges. Also importantly build friendships that continue long after they leave Sri Lanka. On LinkedIn, she describes the initiative: “We’re curating a small, intentional group of spontaneous digital nomads and remote workers who want the best of both worlds.” The offer includes: Fast fiber internet and a proper desk in every room A shared mindset of actually getting work done Morning surf sessions and sunset yoga Shared dinners and slow evenings Weekend adventures along Sri Lanka’s south coast Why She Chose Sri Lanka “Sri Lanka gives me everything I was looking for,” Lilly says. “Surf, nature, amazing food, a conscious community, and the infrastructure to work and build a business.” “Now I want to bring the right people together to share it,” she adds.
