The inaugural flight arrived in Colombo carrying over 180 passengers. Smartwings Meanwhile, Smartwings began operating a weekly charter flight between Warsaw and Colombo on December 24. The first flight arrived with 180 passengers, catering to winter holiday travelers. According to airline industry sources, the charter service is scheduled to operate until March 15, 2026. Tourism Logistics Update Sri Lanka’s rail and road transport networks are nearing full restoration following disruptions caused by the Ditwah Cyclone. In addition, 98% of national parks and tourist attractions across the island are now fully open, ensuring smooth travel and access for visitors during the peak winter season.
