The Aussie Governor General and her ‘recommendation’ on Sri Lanka.

The Governor General and Head of State of Australia, Ms. Sam Mostyn, invited Australians to experience the ‘Modern Sri Lanka.’

Speaking to TV1, the governor said, “So the first thing I’d say is come here, travel to Sri Lanka. As active tourists, come and see for yourself modern Sri Lanka… And so I’d say, come and travel.”

This is Mostyn’s second visit to the island nation.

This is her second visit to the Island, first in 2005.

“When you ask me how I feel coming back, what is not different at all is the absolute sense of welcome and warmth and the wanting of sharing of Sri Lankan culture with those that come,” She further said.

She also said Sri Lanka and Australia can strengthen business ties and prosper together.

“I think I’d encourage business people to think about what foreign direct investment looks like once you’ve established that you can deliver an economy that is corruption-free. That has been a promise made by your leadership.

During the year 2024, 89573 Australian tourists visited Sri Lanka, and this number is expected to grow.
