The Famous Walk For Peace Monks fly to Sri Lanka , The Venerable monks of famous ‘Walk For Peace’ arrives in Sri Lanka to commence their Sri Lanka walk on the 20th April. A Group of Seven Monks of the Peace Monk Group will engage in their ‘ Sri Lanka Segment’ of the Walk For Peace, from 20th to 30th April 2026. They will be accompanying by ‘Aloka’ the Peace Dog, who will join the delegation before commencing the walk. Led by Venerable Phra Ponchai Khamyeam, the delegation carries with them a message of peace, compassion, and mindfulness. The venerable monks who began their journey to Sri Lanka from USA are: – Venerable Phiyathammoo – Venerable Ratanasak Chaoyod – Venerable Dechamnaj Hompromma – Venerable Natthapol – Venerable Ponchai Khamyeam – Venerable Thirasak – Venerable Oneta Mingsisouphanh In a few days, Venerable Ratanaguṇa, Venerable Bhikkhu Pannakara, will fly to join the group. This journey marks a historic and deeply significant chapter for the Walk for Peace. Upon the journey’s conclusion, the venerable monks will be entrusted to bring Sacred Relics of the Buddha a revered national treasure of Sri Lanka and a Bodhi tree sapling (a descendant of the original tree where the Buddha attained Enlightenment) back to the United States. Organizers of Walk for Peace expressed hope that the monks’ presence in Sri Lanka, an Island in the Indian Ocean will inspire goodness, strengthen community bonds, and encourage inner peace among all who encounter them. “May this journey bring immense merit, harmony, and blessings to all beings. Safe travels and blessings to all the Venerables,” the delegation said in a statement. The Peace Monks gained global attention recently when they walked across American carrying the message of ‘Peace’. The delegation walked across 2300 Miles in USA, under the title of ‘Hope and Peace’. “A spiritual journey across America.
