Sri Lanka: ‘Small Island – Big Trip’ – What The Tourists Think? , Despite its small size, Sri Lanka continues to amaze visitors with the sheer diversity of experiences it offers. “I cannot believe how much fits into this small island,” said Mark Matthews, a PE tutor and life coach, sharing his experience on his X account. He seems to be currently touring the country as per his social accounts. “Hikes in the mountains one day, beaches the next—wildlife, surfing, waterfalls, sunsets, and temples in the heavens—Sri Lanka has it all,” he added. Meanwhile, Christopher and his family from Australia, who just concluded a two-week visit to Island, shared their positive experience.“We had a great two-week holiday. It was good for kids—we loved seeing the animals and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere,” he said. “Highly recommended, and we invite everybody to come here,” added Christopher. An Indian tourist, also posting on X, wrote, “Every Indian should take a trip to Sri Lanka to see how kindness and empathy automatically translate into cleanliness and social responsibility.” He further noted, “No kachra, no honking, no ‘me-first’ attitude.” Global travel publication Lonely Planet, in its latest post about the country, described it as “a swirl of beaches, temples, tea fields, and wildlife—all in one island.” Post-Diwah, Sri Lanka has rebounded strongly, with its transportation network and basic infrastructure making a steady recovery. Hotels, guest houses, and major attractions—including wildlife parks, waterfalls, and beaches—are fully open and welcoming tourists. In December alone, over 115,000 tourists arrived in the country so far, as it is set to record a new high in arrivals. Already, the country has recorded 2.2 million arrivals year to-date. Sri Lanka attracts a majority of its tourists from India as a single source market. There is a heavy influx of European visitors—particularly from the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and also Russia especially during the winter. There has also been a notable increase in tourist arrivals from Australia and the United States. Read More: Tourists Delighted with as ‘Ella Is Safe’ Campaign picks up!
