Sri Lankan Girl – The different colors worn by them

,

Sri Lanka’s national carrier, Sri Lankan Airlines, is a true globe trotter and connects Sri Lanka with the world.

It connects Sri Lanka daily to the USA, European capitals, Asia’s busiest airports, Russia, Australia, and also Africa.

While many know the airline for its iconic brand, warm hospitality, and secure travel, few realize the subtle story told through the different colored sarees worn by its cabin crew.

Each color reflects a role, a responsibility, and a level of leadership onboard.

However, one thing remains common across them all.

The saree is draped in a style inspired by Sri Lanka’s Kandyan culture, (osariya) symbolizing national pride and elegance.

Let’s take a closer look, colour by colour:

🟠 Orange Saree – Cabin Manager
The Orange saree is reserved for the Cabin Manager.

She is the “commander-in-chief” of the cabin, the one who leads the team in the skies.

From safety to service, the Cabin Manager calls the shots, ensuring smooth operations at 35,000 feet.

🔴 Red Saree – Service Instructor
The Red saree belongs to the Service Instructor.

She is responsible for training and mentoring crew members, upholding service standards, and guiding the younger flight attendants.

She acts as the bridge between management policies and real-time practice in the air.

🔵 Dark Blue Saree – Cabin Supervisor
The Dark Blue saree is worn by the Cabin Supervisor.

Her role is to support the Cabin Manager and oversee sections of the cabin, making sure that both passengers and crew are well taken care of during the journey.

🔹 Light Blue Saree – Flight Attendant
The Light Blue saree is the most commonly seen – worn by Flight Attendants.

They are the welcoming faces of SriLankan Airlines, delivering comfort, care, and safety to passengers throughout the flight.

Conclusion

So remember, when you on-board Sri Lankan next time, you know exactly what ‘each’ one’s roles are.
