Unity Plaza Capture ‘Eye Balls’ via Wrap-Around Screen

Lanka Realty Investments PLC, a company listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange, says the installation of a wrap-around outdoor LED screen on the exterior of Unity Plaza represents a significant development in Sri Lanka’s commercial property sector.

“Positioned as Sri Lanka’s largest outdoor LED advertising screen, the installation represents a significant step in introducing technology, innovation and digital commercialization into the property sector,” the company said in its 2025 Annual Report.

Unity Plaza, owned by Lanka Realty Investments, is one of Sri Lanka’s well-known IT and technology hubs, housing a range of businesses catering to both B2B and B2C markets.

According to Lanka Realty, the initiative has transformed previously underutilized facade space into a new and recurring digital advertising revenue stream.

Saravanan Neelakandan, Chairman of Lanka Realty Investments, said the initiative is also aimed at strengthening Unity Plaza’s visibility while positioning the company at the forefront of innovative asset-management solutions within Sri Lanka’s commercial real estate market.

The wrap-around LED screen, which was installed this year, represents an investment of approximately Rs. 200 million.

Unity Plaza Wrap Around Digital Screen Opening

The initiative is expected to create an additional revenue stream for the company through digital advertising, with large-format LED displays increasingly being used by brands to capture consumer attention in high-traffic urban locations.

Strategic Location

Unity Plaza is strategically located in Bambalapitiya, facing the iconic Galle Road, one of Colombo’s busiest commercial and commuter corridors.

A significant number of commuters pass the building every day, either on foot, by public transport or in private vehicles, providing considerable visibility for advertisements displayed on the screen.

Adding to its strategic location is the Bambalapitiya Railway Station, situated in close proximity to Unity Plaza.

The station attracts a large volume of daily commuters, including thousands of office workers who rely on railway services to travel to and from Colombo.

The combination of a prominent location, heavy commuter traffic and a large-format digital display gives the new LED installation significant potential as an outdoor advertising platform while also creating a new commercial revenue opportunity from Unity Plaza’s exterior space.

The share price of the Lanka Realty PLC was traded at LKR 50.80 at the close of trading today at the CSE.
