A fuel station in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka increases weekly fuel quota

,

Sri Lanka, starting from midnight today, has increased the fuel quota allocated to all categories of vehicle owners.

The state-run Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) announced the following revisions:

  • Public buses will now receive 100 liters per week, up from 60 liters.
  • Land vehicles will be allocated 40 liters, increased from 25 liters.
  • Vans will receive 50 liters per week, up from the previous 40 liters.
  • Three-wheelers will be given 20 liters, increased from 15 liters.
  • Bicycles will receive 8 liters, up from the earlier 5 liters.
  • Land vehicles mainly used for agriculture and related activities will also be allocated 40 liters per week, increased from 25 liters.

Additionally, specific fuel distribution dates have been assigned based on the last digit of    vehicle number plates.

This measure aims to better manage fuel distribution and reduce queues at petrol stations.
