Dine and Wine on the ‘Bustaurant’ in Dambulla , A Sri Lankan entrepreneur has launched a ‘Bustaurant’ to provide tourists with wine, dining, and travel on the go! In a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country, Basturant aims to give tourists a hotel-like experience while traveling along rural roads to historical and scenic sites. The ‘Bustaurent’ will carry travelers to areas like Dambulla, Inamaluwa, Kibissa, Sigiriya, Pelwehera, and Pidurangala, which consist of scenic views and cultural and historical attractions. The ‘Bustaurent’ will also operate to local tanks and reservoirs, with food, drinks, and a variety of on-board facilities provided to travelers. The Central Provincial Tourism Department, the Dambulla Municipal Council, and local bodies backed the initiative. Dambulla is a key tourism attraction in Sri Lanka and boasts of the UN-listed Dambulla Cave Temples among many attractions. Sri Lanka’s tourism industry is on a steady rise, with tourist arrivals last year surpassing 2.4 million.
