A Key Segment Of The Upcountry Train Track Commences , ELLA – DEMODARA LOOP – HAPUTALE AMONG TRAIN STATIONS COVERED Train services between Badulla and Ambewela on the Up-Country Railway Line will recommence today following the restoration of this 71-kilometre stretch of the Upcountry railway track. Although the complete Upcountry railway network will require additional time for full restoration, this particular section offers travellers some of the most scenic railway views in Sri Lanka. The stretch includes iconic landmarks such as the Nine Arches Bridge, the world-famous Demodara Loop, and Ohiya Railway Station, the highest railway station in the country. Popular hill-country towns including Haputale and Bandarawela also fall along this route. This service marks the inaugural train operation after more than 20 days of suspension.
