Sri Lanka Goes Digital For Real Time ‘Road Updates’

Sri Lankan Government today launched a new digital platform to update ‘Road Status’ for travelers.

The portal road-lk.org provides public with updates on the ‘Live Status’ of the roads across the Island.

The platform provides details such as routes open for travel, roads that are completely blocked and roads that have faced landslides, collapse, flooding, damaged and more.

The initiative comes at a time, when Sri Lanka’s Road Network was heavily damaged during the recent Ditwah Cyclone, that took the lives of over 600 persons, and displaced millions across the country.

Authorities believe the new platform will help all forms of commuters using Sri Lankan Roads.
